I read her book from panic to power and it saved me I went a good 2 years without one. I guess I forgot how to sooth myself.
But I had even quit the buspar. Her name is Lucinda Bassett she saved me. Below is the web site for her and her books and hospital. She is the very one who started studies on this instead of saying people like us was crazy she was just like us at one time. :c)"
How long are you supposed to take Antihistamines? I've tried all the antihistamine medications and none of them really worked for me except, Allegra 24 hour antihistamies. if i forget to take a dose, my eyes get really itchy and swollen.
Do I have to take this medication for the rest of my life?
Question about Allegra D? Hello!
I went to see allergy specialist today and after doing some allergy tests on me, turned out I don't have any allergies at all.
But still I asked doctor to prescribe some medicine for me, cause I always have stuffed nose and dry scratchy throat.
So he gave me some Allergy D samples (fexofenadine HCI 180mg/pseudoephedrine HCI 240mg) is that a normal dose, or too big? I didn't feel anything even some hours after taking medicine. But closer to evening I felt that my eyes actually feel much better (they don't hurt as they use to) plus my nose gets clear and than stuffed again (but pretty much clear now) I also felt a lot of energy inside of me,but than on the other side I also felt some weakness from time to time.
Can I still continue using Allegra D (same dosage as I mentioned above) or less, even if I don't have any allergies, but it helps me relieve my symptoms.
Thank you!
Philz0r replied: "Yes.
Fexofenadine is quite safe, and that is the normal dosing for seasonal allergies. Regardless of whether you have "allergies" that they were able to detect, something is irritating you, and this medication is made just for that.
The PSE HCl dosage is the 24 hour dose, and shouldn't cause a problem either."
Dragonfly replied: "The AllegreD is good. It will help the congestion, and various other symptoms. You can take it as long as you need and I am sure it will help. There is just the cost to think about, depends but the prescription can be pricey.
If you find something over the counter that helps as much just use it."
Help with severe allergies? My body has built severe allergies to soy, shellfish, nuts, pepper and a list of about a hundred other things. In addition I have bad environmental allergies to animals, perfumes and grass. Does anyone know of any alternative cures or things that help with allergies? I have to take large doses of allegra everyday along with Allergy shots to be able to even breathe. I eat honey everyday and that has helped some but does anyone have other tips? Thanks
horseluver replied: "There is no cure or treatment for food allergies. As for your environmental allergies, allergy shots are your best bet on alleviating those symptoms. Do a sinus rinse everyday to clean to allergens out of your nose and sinuses. When you are around an animal you know you are allergic to, try to stay away from it as much as you can. Wash your hands and take a shower as you get home to help get the allergens off of your body. I found that natural remedies do not help with severe allergies."
Anyone experience unusual side affects from the BC Tri-Sprintec? I am going to be taking it.? I was on YAZ for a long time, and I have horror storys from it. Ive been of it for a while and now i am going to be taking a low dose one called TRI SPRINTEC. I have a history of depression, but as i am getting older it is under control, has anyone experienced anxiety or depression while on these BC pills?
And what other weird or unusual things did you experience?
I am also on the medication allegra for allergies. Will this counteract anything?
Priscilla replied: "I myself just stopped yaz (so dam expensive) and am considering to Sprintec. I was told there is Sprintec and Tri Sprintec. I would ask to see which one is better for you. Tri Sprintec has multiple levels of hormones dosed at different times of your cycle. (why? i have no idea, or even if this makes it more effective) ANY pill can have bad effects, thats why the doctors always ask you your medical history because they can possibly increase these serious effects. I was on yaz for 2 years and never experienced a single problem. I am also healthy too."
Chest Weakness? I recently went was put on Allegra-D and it gave me heart palpitations and chest pain. The heart plapitations are getting better but i still have chest pain and now i feel weak in my chest. Is chest weakness normal after being on a high dose of allegra-d and having the side effects like I did?
Thanks!!
note: please don't say "see a doctor immeadiately" .. I was just there.
Nikki replied: "If you just saw him why didn't you ask him about it? Just curious. According to this link, your supposed to contact your doctor immediately if you have this side effect. I have the link for you. All the best."
richpill replied: "allegra D contains pseudoephedrine in it. That is what meth makers use to make meth. It is a stimulant and usually increase heart rate. Since Allegra D is mainly used for allergies with sinus congestion, i recommend stopping it. It is not a life saving drug that you must take. There are several other antihistamines out there. You can simply take allegra on it's own. It seems that you are very sensitive to pseudoephedrine."
bad springtime allergies? i have never suffered anything so worse in my entire life...this past week i got pink eye and my allergies kicked in around the same time. I have always been known for having bad springtime allergies but i have never experienced anything worse then this season so far..my eyes are BEAT red..i dont have pink eye anymore this is all from my allergies..my eyes will not stop itching i feel like i cant open them, my nose is runny and my throat is so swollen for days now and it feels like my eye lids are numb... i am on a high dose of allegra i take once daily and otc eye drops for allergies but its just not enough..i just tried a benedryl allergy pill but im nervous since im on allegra and taking the benedryl at once but i dont care..im away at college so i cant get to a doctor it seems the only thing i can do is go to the hospital down the road but i dont want to take away from people who actually need to be hospitalized...HELP ME
Corona replied: "On top of everything else you are doing, please add these to your list to try to get better until the season passes. When you go outside and come back in, wash your hands and change your clothes. The pollen will attach itself to your hair and clothes so you need to change and wash your hair often, along with your hands. Instead of stratching, or rubbing your eyes, which I know is hard not to do, lay down with a cold rag over your eyes and keep them shut. Another thing to do is use a saline nasal wash. This will wash out the allergen that gets caught up in your nostrils. Wash your pillows and bedding more often, especially if you have laid down on your pillow after you have been outside without washing your hair. Change the air filter in your room every 2 weeks right now instead of once a month. If none of this helps, or it doesn't help enough, you may need to see your doctor about taking allergy shots. Go to a specialist, because I promise you you are probably allergic to more things that what you realize. A series of allergy shots will help build up your immune system towards your allergens. Another thing that also helps me, and it feels pretty good is if you lay down on your back, close your eyes and take your thumbs and put them right up under your eyebrows...you will have to feel for the peeks that look like this ^. With your thumbs, on your eyelids, and your pinkies facing away from your face, gently rub these peeks. This lady that done reflexology showed me this as a pressure point for sinus and allergies and it really does help you feel a little better. And in addition to the allegra, you might get a nose spray along with the saline nasal wash.
Good luck and hang in there!"
Why do I have a sore throat? Why do I have a sore throat? It's spring, I'm not supposed to be getting sick!! The cold weather usually makes me sick, I am hardly ever sick in the spring or summer. It's not allergies either... my allergies are terrible and I am on a very currently on a very strong dose prescription of Allegra D. What is causing my sore throat in the middle of this 65 degree weather?
I live in NJ and it's been fairly warm here for about a month already, except last week it dropped down to like 50 for a few days, could that be it?
My boyfriend doesn't have a sore throat so it isn't from him, and when I sleep I always keep the window open and the air on.
peti replied: "cause your throat is sore"
schristineh replied: "have you been screaming or yelling?"
Withinmotion replied: "u may have an infection or the rino virus"
Flap jack replied: "you might be having sinus problems or alergies for your first time who knows"
Katrina F replied: "i dont know why. maybe you got it from someone else"
charge replied: "** Have you been up to no good?"
JenniDarlin replied: "Dry air in your room at night when you sleep?? Do you live in a relatively dry climate or have dry air in your house? Try sleeping with a humidifier."
Palmilla replied: "Probably your throat is drying out with the Allegra D and making your throat red and sore."
Moonlight replied: "Maybe you ate something too hot or you talked too loud or screamed too much...I have a runny/stuffy nose right now, so yeah, it's definately not paradise."
joker83318 replied: "thats weird same thing thats happening to u i have right now."
vAFLIP replied: "are you drinking alot of beverages with ice all the time...minimize the usage.
changes of weather possibly causes it...cold to warm to hot in couple of hours...
the air you are breathing possibly while you sleep...goes into your throat and pass in lungs."
monkeysunkle replied: "because god is tired of all you complaining"
omfgjacqueline replied: "You could just be getting sick... Just because you USUALLY get sick in cold weather, doesn't mean that you ALWAYS do. js."
Tom G replied: "its prolly allergies... i get it to in the beginning of spring season"
Gwen H replied: "U can sometimes get sick in the spring. Its because the weather is changing. Its normal"
drummer.girl777 replied: "Sometimes allergy medicine can dry you out and make your throat hurt. Try to drink more fluids."
protoham replied: "Are you running a fever? Could it be strep? Maybe a new allergy."
Tom replied: "im getting the same thing its just your body going threw the seasonal changes i thought i got mono from gf i almost smacked the s**t out of her haha"
Skiowl1 replied: "one of the side effects of allegra is sore throat. It is either cold or allergies. In 30 years of suffering allergies I've not found one single medicine that covers every allergy I suffer. So it could still be allergies."
ownaged_d_r replied: "If you live in an area where theres temperature change, than maybe thats why. But the temperature isn't that one that is making you sick, its the germs. The weather change messes around with your immune system its more vulnerable to opportunistic infections. This is a VERY normal thing. Just take your meds, antibiotics, and your immune system should get back on track so you wont get another cold or sore throat. I hope this helped!"
zarina a replied: "Sore throats can be gotten not only with bad weather.Dehydration or lack of water intake can cause it too. Maybe another person suffering from some bacterial infection infected some germs to you.Sharing of cups or kissing may cause germs to spread. Check your throat at the G.P if any antibiotics are necessary. Constipation may cause the throat to feel painful too. Get more fibre in your diet. You can also get lozenges called Difflam for a relief for this moment.Stick to protein drinks and soft foods to ease the pain, do not avoid all foods you may be weak and malnutritioned.Do not let your problems grow worse by not asking for help from elders, they may offer good simple solutions to ease your pain."
Allergy meds? Can I take Allegra and One benadryl to help me sleep at night?
I was prescribed a generic Allegra by my doc, and The generic flonase. I thought the flonase was only making things worse so I stopped taking it. I haven't been able to sleep. I also take my allegra beforeI go to bed, so would it be okay to take 1 benadryl pill and my allegra.
Benadryl for an adult dose is recommeneded to take 2, so I thought i would only take one just to help me fall asleep at lease.
If Not do you have anyother suggestions.
mlgable replied: "Yes you can take the Benadryl but you should probably take two if you want it to make you sleepy. Just be sure to update your doc that you are using this."
I think I'm addicted to my decongestant...My allergist put me one it 3 years ago bc I have bad allergies..? I am on Allegra D 12 hr...and every time I miss a dose (here and there) my whole face fills up with fluid and I get pressure and headaches!!! What should I do??? Now that I think I am addicted I need to figure this out!! I only took a 1/2 of a pill today...Any other ideas???? Thanks in advance
Earl s replied: "talk to the doctor"

PJ replied: "Weaning yourself off is a good option - like you are doing, take less and less until you don't take it any more. But, you will still have to deal with your allergies. Claratin and Zyrtec are both good allergy medicines that might work for you - generally no side effects. Or you could go back and talk to your doctor. Good luck."
Supermom replied: "you can't get addicted to Allegra D (but you CAN get addicted to over the counter nose sprays like Afrin.) If your symptoms become miserable when you miss one pill that's a sign that your underlying problem is very severe. If your nasal discharge is discolored you should see your doctor about a probable sinus infection (the symptoms of which the Allegra D is supressing,) but if your secretions are 100% clear then likely your allergies are quite strong. Are you exposed to one of the things your allergist said you're allergic to? (cats, dogs, ???) If so, consider going back to the allergist and talking about other possible treatments, like prescription nasal sprays (NOT addictive,) or even allergy shots.
good luck!"
