When your body gets accustomed to having a certain level of caffeine at certain times of the day and then your body doesn't get it, you will get a splitting headache. It's best not to get hooked on the stuff to begin with. Some pain relievers have caffeine in them because the manufacturers know that many of the headaches that people get are due to not getting caffeine when the body is expecting it."

Chef Orville replied: "Caffeine is a drug, so that's bad for you. If you take a look at the nutrition facts, you'll probably see that's it's high in sugar which turns to fat. It's probably high in carbs, which turns to fat too. So be careful with those energy drinks. You're better off just drinking water or Gatorade."

M L replied: "Caffeine is not necessarily bad for you but you do want to limit the quantity (high caffeine intake is correlated with incidence of cardiovascular disease in women) I would be more worried about the corn syrup and other nasty stuff in red bull. Tanking up on processed foods and drinks like this is a sure road to diabetes, high blood pressure and other miseries. Stick with coffee if you need caffeine and limit your intake."

I got my body back in balance by going to a holistic doctor who tested my body and gave me a food list tailored to my specific system. All the doctors and cardiologists claimed I needed a heart operation...........THIS doctor said I didn't..............now, 3 years later, I have had NO heart problems and have NO heart medicine and I am healthy. Don't mess with that stuff.......it will catch up with you and you'll regret it."

Most energy drinks like monster and red bull are just basically sugar and caffeine. It gets you energized for a short period time, then you crash. However, the feeling you get during that short period of time makes you want it more. That is where the addiction begins. Large amounts of caffeine is definitely bad for you. What energy drink can I use before I play basketball instead of high caffeine and sugar drinks? I drink either a Red Bull or Full Throttle about 3-5 times a week before I play ball at noon everyday. Why do iget dizzy with a headache , after drinking a high caffeine energy drink? It is high in caffeine and B vitamins. I know that caffeine in high doses gives me headaches and makes me feel a little fever-ish , but why can other people's bodies tolerate this more than mine, what's the difference? I mean , my sister can drink 2 energy drinks in a row and not have any side affects, but if i drink 2 , in the same day ( not in a row) i get a migraine for the rest of the day and have to lay down . I rarely have these drinks , maybe once a month , but i would love to know why caffeine does this to me . I don't have diabetes , but i do have an underactive thyroid , maybe that has something to do with it . oh yeah i forgot about the high sugar levels hehe, but i have the same affects when i drink green tea in high doses , like 8 cups per day , it has zero sugar , and some caffeine. I thought it was dehydration , but i drink a lot of water throughtout the day , 4 litres on average

kenoismygame replied: "Its not the caffeine, its the level of sugar in those drinks. Very high."

oldknowitall replied: "You are just lucky like me. We all are different. Drink water instead!!!"

12312 replied: "like the other person said, it's not caffene but rather the sugar in the drink. Your sugar level goes high. The reason your sister's sugar level doesn't go high like yours is because your more insulin resistant and your sister isn't."

MYSTERY!!! replied: "to tell you the truth. The ingredients in every high energy drink will affect your body, but you will not be able to feel it yourself. But it has been proven that it actually does physically benefit you for a short amount of time. This being said does not mean that you should drink it daily. This fact is only for you drinking energy drinks once in a while. Maybe three times a week at the most at low amounts of consumption. NOT TOO MUCH Your welcome"

Nocturnal_Nisha replied: "well the same effects that caffine and lotsa sugar have. guarana, which is a very popular ingredient in many energy drinks, is a central nervous system stimulant. What you don't know is that consuming these drinks and then mixing them with drinks containing ephedrine or diet pills can be very dangerous. taurine, which is actually something that we naturally get from foods that contain vitamin B6. We normally get more than enough taurine in out diet and the extra amount that we get from these energy drinks, depending on how much we consume, can become toxic in our systems."

briguy0103 replied: "I drink 1 sometimes 2 energy drinks a day, I havent felt any adverse effects as of yet. I've been drinking them for about a year and a half now and I dont feel like I need one on days I dont drink them. The only major adverse effect i've notice is that of my wallet decreasing in weight as they cost like 1.50 each even when bought in bulk. I usually drink AMP, but occasionally monster."

Your kidneys could get blocked... i think Red Bull and Burn might have websites that actually can link you to health risks. Personally i get headaches from not drinking that stuff, and have a caffeine addiction."

Any really good energy drinks with the highest caffeine? We don't like a really strong vitamin taste. Also, a taste description would be helpful.

blackbeard replied: "I like the Starbucks Doubleshot Espresso Mocha or Plain. The caffeine is very strong and effective. A 12 oz. can has 160 calories, so I wouldn't drink it at every meal. It tastes like Starbucks coffee with milk and sugar."

Has anyone tried Zip Fizz Energy Drink? How do you like it? I used it for three straight days while doing intense workouts and I crashed (was extremely exhausted) on the fourth and fifth day. I don't know if it's because of the drink or if it's because I overexerted myself. I do like the stuff, though. It works better than the other high-caffeine energy drinks. Just make sure you take a vitamin B complex supplement while using it.

am1360 replied: "i like fizz. it make me go. runs my job."

Me replied: "i never heard of it. most energy drinks taste nasty but i go buy some. i like Mountain Dew MDX and RedBull is the best."
