What type of bulb do I need to replace my front turn signal bulb on my 97 Jeep Grand Cherokee Laredo? I thought it was a 1295NA bulb, but that is the outside bulb. I can't figure out what kind of bulb to put in, but I believe it might be a wedge bulb. Are all wedge bulbs the same? I believe the sylvania part number is: 3454NALL, but I can't find this online anywhere.

manicmechanic replied: "no, not all wedge bulbs are the same..you will probably have to go to your local auto parts store to get the bulb. take your old bulb with you if you still have it..its hard sometimes to find exact parts your looking for online.. thats why i would rather go in person to a parts store, unless i know exactly the part i need.. also look in the owners manual if you have one.. hope this helps....."

97 Jeep Grand Chero...turn signal ?? How in the heck do you change a front turn signal bulb on this thing ? Can't get at it from behind..no screws/bolts showing from the front !! Do I start by removing the grill? What kind of leaping, screaming nit-wit designed THIS ?

Rocky replied: "Many vehicles today have a way of removing these entire light housings. Open the hood and see if there is a plastic radiator top cover that can be removed. My truck has a way to remove the whole headlight / parking light assembly under this cover. All the wires to these lights are long enough so that you can pull the light assembly housing out and get to each light. It's probably not as difficult as all appearances would seem. I think you can do it. Go slow and look it all over carefully or you may break a vital plastic part. Good Luck."

thebax2006 replied: "If it's a turn signal in the front tip of a fender I'd guess you have to get at it from inside a fender well after taking the liner out."

bimmer replied: "first open the hood. Then look at the light housing to the right or left of the actual headlight depending on whether you are replacing the driver or passenger side. there is a small screw on top of this fixture. unscrew it. the next screw is between this light fixture and the light fixture below it. you have to push a small philips head screwdriver between these two light housings to get to it. it is hard to see so I would recomend a flashlight. once this is unscrewed, you can remove this light fixture and get to the turn signal fixture below. There are only two screws that you will be able to see very easily. after these are removed, you will be able to to sort of slide this fixture out and get to the bulbs. It sounds complicated but it is pretty easy to remove. I have replaced bulbs within ten minutes. you just need to find the four screws. Good Luck!"

2000 Jeep Cherokee turn signals and battery...? Our crappy Jeep was purchased in March of this year when we came to VA. Everything seemed to be working fine of course from the beginning, but over time, things just started acting up. Both the right and left turn signal don't work anymore...and the battery has to be jumped everytime we need to start the car. It's not the turn signal bulbs that don't work because the emergency flashers work fine. I'm sure that the wiring to the individual turn signals is messed up but I am not a car person and my husband hasn't done anything to aleviate the problem. As for the battery, I think it may need to be replaced...I don't know where the wiring to the turn signals might be. Any help would be greatly appreciated!

texasm replied: "You may have a bad turn signal switch, but you may also have a seperate flasher for the turn signals. Check for a second flasher, and also check for a turn signal fuse. If your alternator is charging, but the battery has to be jumped, then you possibly have an issue where something is dragging the battery down, or the battery may not be holding a charge. Autozone will check all of this for you for free."

sidecar0 replied: "But for a small amount of wiring behind the Fuse Box, that is separate, the Flashers and Turn Signals use the Same Wires. With the Turn Signals it either Flasher Unit for the Turn Signals (There 2 Turn Signals & E-Flashers) or the Turn Signal Switch on the Steering Column. Battery; If 3 1/2 to 4 1/2 Years Old or looks Swollen (Shorted) on the Sides Replace It. A Fully Charge Good Battery should Show 11.5V to 12.5V, With the Engine it should show 12.8V to 13.7 Volts Showing you That your Alternator is Working Properly. NOTE; A Weak or Bad Alternator Will Fully Drain a Good Battery in 2 Days!"

98 Jeep Wrangler- Turn signal light not working? My turn signal light doesnt come on with the rest of the lights on the Jeep. I assumed it just needed a new bulb so went down to Kragen and got the bulb put it in and it still doesnt come on. Electric issue? Or something small? Anybody have an idea what the problem could be..

grodhi96792 replied: "Check to see if the emergency flashers come on, if they don't the problem may be the flasher unit located under the dash (usually near the fuse box) remove and replace. Since it sounds like only one don't work you may have to check the other bulb ( front or back?) on the side that don't work. If neither of these solve the problem then you may want to check the "blinker" switch out. I'm assuming you already checked the fuse."

bandit_60 replied: "it might be a bad socket. check the ground on the socket by taking a piece of wire and put it along the inside of the socket then put the bulb in the socket. then touch the wire to a good ground and see if it lights up."

How do you change the front turn signal on a 1996 Jeep Grand Cherokee Limited? After having to order a bulb none of the stores carried, I now can't figure out how to change the front left turn signal on my truck. It's a 96 Grand Cherokee Limited, V8, 4x4..hopefully that's enough info on it. Thanks for any help.

"Wizard" replied: "Quick tip.. Haynes or Chilton repair manuals.. at your local auto parts dealer or local book store.. These book will go into depth for you."

why doesn't the right rear turn signal light not work on my 1993 jeep cherokee? park lights work, break lights work. changed all bulbs. right rear turn signal light doesn't work, but front does

Gomer replied: "short in wiring"

Mike K replied: "I think from 93-98 there was problems with the right rear turn signal our 95 GC had the same problem"

jeepyster replied: "Check the socket in which the bulb goes into for the turn signal. If it looks somewhat corroded then take some wd 40 and a scotchbrite in it and clean it up. Or scrape up th scales with a small screwdriver. Try wiggling the bulb in it with the turn signal on."

2000 Jeep wrangler turn signal not working? I have replaced the flasher unit behind the glove box. The brake lights don't work when trying to use the turn signal but otherwise work. The bulbs are all ok. the fuses appear to be all ok also. If i turn on the hazard lights, I can use the left blinker, but not the right. I did some research and found that often gunk (dirt, dust and what not) builds up at the base of the hazzard flashers, I used WD 40 and worked the switch for a minute or two, and now everythings fixed.

jeepster replied: "Does the flasher unit click when brake is applied? You need to check the turn signal switch and the brake light switch you also need to look for a short (any bare wires, bent, broken)."

2001 Jeep Grand Cherokee Left Turn Signal? My left turn signal quit working a couple of months ago. It works fine for the right turn signal and the emergency flashers work fine. I replaced all the bulbs a few weeks ago with no success in curing it. Interestingly, it's been fairly cold in TN today and it worked this morning. Does this sound like a problem with the flasher or maybe in the switch handle?

loonatic72 replied: "flasher"

Mustanger replied: "It's in the switch. The contacts for the left turn aren't making right. If it was the flasher both sides would give you trouble as the flasher is common to both."
