mike w replied: "cost varies to garages i wouldn't pay more than 30 though easy to fix yourself all you need is a screwdriver and knife"
Robert M replied: "Fix it yourself!!!! Use only a genuine Lexus hose and only genuine Lexus coolant. You'll be sorry if you don't. Chances are that if you have a tear in a hose on a Lexus, you haven't had any cooling system servicing done. Do it now to prevent problems later. Something caused your hose to fail, find out why. Never, never, never, use the standard green coolant, you are begging for problems.!! If you are insecure about doing the job yourself, go the dealership, buy the hose and coolant, and take it to a quick change center. They can flush out the old and flush in the new without degrading the entire system. Good Luck!!!"
Lexus ES300 plastic wheel well part? I have an 02 Es300 and on the passengers side i guess in the wheel well you'd call it there is a huge plastic piece that lines the inside of the well above the tire. This piece has fallen about 1/4 the way off and is rubbing against the tire, what is the name of this piece? How much does it cost to repair? And do I have to worry about any tire damage because I drove about 30 miles to get home with this problem? Thanks
I can't just push it back up there because its like broken too. And I can see some wires, so I think its important to have it covered properly.
bob D replied: "stuff it back where it belongs, it has a specific place where it fits .If you jiggle it around a bit you will even be able to align the holes, auto zone has plastic pins that have taken the place of screws over the years, you can put in the holes. For me this would be a $3.99 fix. For your typical Lexus owner (no disrespect intended) the dealer will probably charge you two or three hundred dollars.
I wouldn't drive even 10 miles without at least pushing it up and back into place, so it is off the tire."
Lexus es300 . How do I replace the hydraulic cooling fan motor with this electric one? Ok after having overheating issues with this car. Turns out it's the cooling fan. As told by mechanics here. Thanks guys...
Now, I found a more practical solution... I just need instructions on how to go about installing the following motor and removing the hydraulically controlled one that is installed in my 1993 Lexus ES300...
FOUR SEASONS Part # 35407
Radiator Fan Motor; w/o Hydraulic System
That is the item I purchased to solve my problem.
Now I need to know what to do and most important, what NOT to do.
Problem with my car is, it overheats if driven local and cools if over 50 miles per hour. So the hydraulic cooling fan controllers somehow are screwed and no one found the solution.................... I was even told to buy anew power steering pump, that all those are connected.. I want the practical solution... Thanks so much you all I really appreciate your help.
UCANTCME replied: "You could pull the original fan out and cap off the lines and then install the newer electrical fan and wire it up to the coolant temperature sensor but this "could" set off the check engine light but this is all that I can think of at this time....
Or you can wire it up to the A/C compressor pressure switch but you would have to have the A/C on while the car is idling...
Or you could just wire it up to a toggle switch and mount it on the dash really nice and turn it on while you are in traffic....."
how much to cost the labor fee on change spark plug for the 93 lexus es300 v6? i have the parts. just want to know how much to change the spark plugs? and fuel filter?
Kenny replied: "if u can get sum1 on the strret to do ur spark plugs not much, but that fuel filter will cost ya, because you have to pull out the gas tank to get to it."
w0rdy0 replied: "Spark plugs you could do yourself easily with a socket wrench. Fuel filter would vary depending on the shop."
