2003 Jeep RUB VS 2008 Jeep X? Ok here in vegas a dealer has an 2003 Rubicon for sale. 21,000 milesw/ tires on it. (they looked brand new so i wouldn't have to put any new tires on it)They want $18k for it. Alittle pricey cuz i once had an 05 with 13000 miles on it and purchased it for $15,700. I have no yet haggled the price with them but to me the jeep is worth $14,500 or $15000. This jeep looks BRAND NEW. We are thinking an older couple owned it and towed it behind an RV...(we looked at the carfax and the body) Now there is another dealer, who has a basic 2008 Wranger X for $17,900 (its in an ad and they confirmed it) it also said $219 for 72 months which they also confirmed it was for purchase and not lease) kind of hard to believe. Now i test drove one and i thought it was a little to big (im used to the smaller model) the interior is gorgous thou. But i'm an off-road type of girl so i would need to save money to put a lift and tires on it.My question is which jeep would you get? any advice, opinons? the link to the 2003 JEEP RUB =&make2=&start_year=2003&keywordsfyc=&keywordsfyc=&keywordsrep=&keywordsrep=&engine=&certified=&body_code=0&fuel=&awsp=false&search_type=both&distance=25&marketZipError=false&search_lang=en&make=JEEP&keywords_display=&color=&page_location=findacar%3A%3Aispsearchform&min_price=&drive=&default_sort=priceASC&max_mileage=&style_flag=1&sort_type=priceASC&address=89131&advanced=y&end_year=2009&doors=&transmission=&max_price=&cardist=11 also if i end up w the 03, i would prolly most likely rip out everything inside like the seats and carpet and put new stuff it in to make it look more like the new 08 interior that i love so much so thats why im torn between the two lol

cannondale96 replied: "I would go with the ruby myself, just because you said "i'm an off-road type of girl". The ruby is a very good off-road vehicle out of the box (lockers). Just my 2-cents."

mybuttstinks2008 replied: "Rubicon all the way. 4:1 transfer case, tail shaft conversion, electronic lockers, 4:11 gears. All of that will save you a lot of time and money. I own a 2005 Rubicon unlimited Full Traction long arm kit Across air bumps with 35" Yoko mud's along with a 1979 CJ-7 V8,a 1952 CJ-3A and a 1961 Willy Wagon. They are all different and all a blast to drive. The Rubicon will go up and over anything!"

Jenv replied: "no question about it get the rubi.... better deal for what it comes with plus you can probably wheel and deal on the price"

Carol replied: "Well first off just think about your basic math. There is NO WAY you can be paying $219/month for 72 months and purchase a vehicle for 17,900. If you pay $219 for 72 months you are only paying 15,768. That does not even include interest. It has to be a lease or the person does not know simple math. I would steer clear of that one. They are trying to hook you into something!!! If you plan on taking your Jeep off road and won't be able to do any mods yourself, or have the money to do any, you are better off with the Rubicon. It will give you the off road basics right off the bat. Also with only 21,000 miles on it is probably still in brand new condition. It is really not priced way off. The blue book dealer value for a a 2003 Rubicon in excellent condition is 17,000. If you can deal them down a few thousand dollars then you are about right where you should be for this vehicle. My vote is for the Rubi."

2008 Jeep Wrangler Unlimited: Which 2"-2.5" budget boost lift is the best? I have a 2008 Wrangler Unlimited with the 17" wheels and 32" tires. I am looking at the Teraflex 2.5" budget boost kit with the shocks included, vs the Rubicon express 2" lift with the monotube shocks included, both are around the same price. Does anyone have opinions on which is a better product? I am trying to keep the price dow to around $500 and will be using the vehicle for both a daily driver and offroad on the weekends. Thanks in advance.

Seahorse replied: "The Rubicon express 2" lift with the mono tube shocks is a much better deal over the Teraflex."

is a jeep a good first car?? (pics)? I haven't chosen the exact model yet, so I do apologize for not providing any exact information. but for my first car I really want a jeep like this ..LOL I just felt obligated to show you a pic so you didn't think I mean a jeep..like this anyways what do you think?? are they safe?? are they nice/worth it?? Oh mine would probably be used also. (I don't have enough for a new one) PS: would a jeep like this, be safer? -thanx for any and all help :) LOL

c replied: "Its a gas guzzler but good if you need 4 wheel drive for the winter. pretty solid, reliable"

Seahorse replied: "Go for the Rubicon or Wrangler! Those are the cutest! I am not the biggest fan of Cherokees!"

Nessa Jo replied: "Jeez, are you really getting something EXACT like that? I love the green one! Too bad i'm poor and my parents HATE ME!!!! Good choices though. :)"

dougkush replied: "For my first vehicle, I would get a 2004 Jeep Grand Cherokee :) Its just my preference Wranglers aren't bad though"
